In anticipation: Day 1 (16st 5lb)

Updated: May 11, 2020

Day 1 is here and I am finally able to start the journey back to me! I feel excited to get started, and remember the porridge being rather tasty. I have put off eating my first pack of the day until 10am, thinking that the longer I leave it, the more I'll have to consume later in the day / evening, when times can get tough for me regarding food intake! I tear open my porridge pack, sprinkle in some cinnamon and ginger powder, then add this to 140ml of hot water. Tip - Please grab a small whisk, this isn't something that can be easily mixed together with a spoon, its much easier with a whisk. Then it goes into the microwave for 30 seconds, stand for 1 minute and voila! It is still tasty and I really enjoy it. I'm happy.

I have cut down on my coffee intake and have restricted myself to 2 only. Water, peppermint tea and chamomile tea for the rest of my daily fluid intake of 2-3 litres. I have a headache, which feels a little like a hangover headache, so I take paracetamol to help with this and drink more water.

At 2pm I have my favourite product from the plan, banana shake! I have been looking forward to this shake for days! 225ml of cold water, the shake powder and a couple of ice cubes. Into my Nutribulllet blender for 15 seconds and, Oh wow! It is as delicious as I remember. I describe it as a cross between a great banana milkshake and a pear drop sweet. Hard to explain what I mean by that, but hey, that's what it reminds me of anyhoo! Still very happy and feeling positive at this point. Also, thinking about the chocolate covered peanut crunch bar.....

At 2.30pm, I have hunger pangs and am trying to keep these at bay until my second shake of the day. so, I open the peanut crunch bar and chop it into 12 small chunks, then eat 2 of them, yummy!! This sees off the hunger pangs for a while. So I run a nice hot bath and spend an hour reading a book trapped in a bath where I can't get to any food, even if I wanted to!

5pm, it's time for my strawberry shake. Same process as the banana shake earlier, and whilst it is tasty, its got nothing on the banana one. I think i'll just have two banana shakes a day next week and drop the strawberry one, as I like banana so much. Feeling good and I have the rest of my peanut crunch to nibble on over the evening.

Early night, into bed with my book and a chamomile tea.

End of day 1 and I have had some hunger pangs today and struggled a little with not just heading into the kitchen and grabbing some toast. I have had a headache, which can be attributed to several things, such as less caffeine, absolutely no sugar or carbs and low calorie intake, but am also feeling motivated to lose weight. I can do this!!

And the weight's dropping off!!

So, its day 14 and I am doing great. I have been out for a long walk most evenings and have even forgotten to eat one of my packs on a few days in the last week. I have still been eating three though,
